How this list was put together
Most pickleball court lists online were written by someone who has never been to the courts. Every location below is a public park or a township community center where our coaches teach, which means we have parked there, found the courts and played on them. We have left off anything we would have to guess about, including private clubs and businesses.
One honest caution. Township courts are run by the township, not by us. Open play hours, reservations and winter closures change from season to season, so if you are driving any distance, check the township's website first. You can play on these courts on your own outside clinic hours.
Inside the city
La Salle in North Philadelphia is at 1900 West Olney Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19141. Fox Chase in Northeast Philadelphia is at 7901 Ridgeway Street, Philadelphia, PA 19111. Both run adult and junior pickleball with us, and both are the closest options on this list for anyone in the city who does not want to cross into the suburbs to play.
The Main Line
Radnor plays at 400 S Devon Avenue, Wayne, PA 19087, with winter sessions at the Sulpizio Gym, 125 S Wayne Avenue, Wayne, PA 19087. Lower Merion uses three spots: 49 Bala Avenue, Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004; 154 Mary Waters Ford Road, Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004; and 1505 Remington Road, Wynnewood, PA 19096. Tredyffrin plays at 550 Upper Gulph Road, Wayne, PA 19087 and 440 Old State Road, Berwyn, PA 19312. The Kaiserman JCC at 45 Haverford Road, Wynnewood, PA 19096 is a community center rather than a park, and we run adult and junior pickleball there.
Montgomery County
Upper Merion runs at the Upper Merion Community Center, 431 W Valley Forge Road, King of Prussia, PA 19406, and at Bob White Park, 485 Falcon Road, Wayne, PA 19087. Conshohocken plays at the Community Center at the Fellowship, 515 Harry Street, Conshohocken, PA 19428. Plymouth Meeting uses the Greater Plymouth Community Center, 2910 Jolly Road, Plymouth Meeting, PA 19462.
Whitemarsh plays at Miles Park, 303 Germantown Pike, Lafayette Hill, PA 19444. Upper Dublin plays at Twining Valley Park, 1400 Twining Road, Dresher, PA 19025. Springfield Township runs pickleball in the Recreation Center A Gymnasium, 1200 E. Willow Grove Avenue, Wyndmoor, PA 19038.
Heading north and west, Lower Gwynedd plays at 1428 Welsh Road, North Wales, PA 19454 and 313 Gwynedd Avenue, Lower Gwynedd, PA 19422. Lower Providence plays at 100 Parklane Drive, Eagleville, PA 19403. Limerick plays at 90 Swamp Pike, Limerick, PA 19468.
Bucks County
Doylestown plays outdoors at Central Park, 425 Wells Road, Doylestown, PA 18901, and moves into the CRC Gym at the same address when the weather turns. Warrington plays at 2501 Freedoms Way, Warrington, PA 18976. Lower Makefield plays at the LMT Cardinal Courts on Cardinal Drive, Morrisville, PA 19067. Solebury plays at the Laurel Park Pickleball Courts, 3092 N Sugan Road, Solebury, PA 18963. Perkasie plays at the Kulp Park Pickleball Courts, 21 S. 2nd Street, Perkasie, PA 18944.
Chester County
Phoenixville plays at 50 Tyson Street, Phoenixville, PA 19460. West Chester plays at Hoopes Park, 700 Hoopes Park Lane, West Chester, PA 19380. Tredyffrin, listed under the Main Line above, is in Chester County too.
Delaware County
Concord Township plays at 45 Thornton Road, Glen Mills, PA 19342. Radnor, listed under the Main Line, is also in Delaware County.
Indoor pickleball in winter
Outdoor courts around Philadelphia are usable most of the year, but from December through March you will want a roof. The winter spots we know are gyms and community centers run by the townships. The Sulpizio Gym in Radnor, the CRC Gym in Doylestown and the Recreation Center A Gymnasium in Springfield Township all host pickleball when it is cold. Conshohocken, Plymouth Meeting and Upper Merion play at their township community centers. Indoor space is limited and fills quickly, so if you want to keep playing through the winter, plan a few weeks ahead. Each town page shows which sessions are indoors this season.
Open play etiquette
If you have never walked onto a public court during open play, here is how it usually works.
- Look for the paddle rack or paddle stack near the fence and put your paddle at the end of the line. That is your place in the queue.
- When a game ends, all four players come off and the next four paddles go on. On busy days most courts play to 11, win by 2, to keep things moving.
- Call the score out loud before every serve. Three numbers: your score, their score, and whether you are the first or second server.
- If a ball rolls onto your court from next door, stop play and hand it back. If your ball rolls onto theirs, call "ball" so nobody steps on it.
- Make your own line calls fairly. If you did not see it clearly, it was in.
- Bring a few of your own outdoor balls. They crack, and the group notices who showed up with a fresh sleeve.
- Newer players are welcome at almost every open play we have seen. Say you are new and ask to join a game at your level.
If you would rather learn than just play
Open play is great once you can rally and keep score. Before that, it can feel like joining a pickup basketball game before you have learned to dribble. If you would like a coach to walk you through the serve, the dink, the kitchen rule and the scoring with people at your speed, that is what our clinics do, and they run on the same courts listed above. We provide the paddles, you do not need a partner, and most people in a beginner group have never played.
Common questions
Are there public pickleball courts inside Philadelphia?
Yes. Two of the courts we teach on are inside the city: La Salle at 1900 West Olney Avenue in North Philadelphia and Fox Chase at 7901 Ridgeway Street in Northeast Philadelphia. Most of the other courts on this list are township parks 15 to 45 minutes from Center City.

Do I need to bring my own paddle to public courts?
For open play at a public park, yes. Bring a paddle and a few outdoor balls. At a Universal Rackets clinic we provide paddles and balls, so you can try the sport before buying anything.
